“What does the LORD require of you,” the prophet Micah asks (Micah 6:8), “but to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?” These tasks sound quite simple but are deceptively challenging.

Our duty, then, as Christians and as God-followers, is anchored in justice, love and mercy, and — above all — humility, recognizing the sovereign power of our God over all else.
