Praise God

Praising God is the best activity we can do now and for eternity. It is also our privilege because God has done so many great things for us. He created the universe, Heaven, and earth for us. God sent Jesus to us, who died on the cross to ransom us from our sins. Now, when we believe in Jesus, we can have eternal life.

We praise God because He has done so much already and have faith that He will continually give us eternal happiness.

I praise the Lord in His sanctuary for His acts of power

Psalm 150:1

Praise the LORD! Praise God in his sanctuary! Praise him in his heavens for his acts of power!

Angels of Heaven praised God when Jesus was born

Luke 2:13-14

Suddenly, there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly army praising God, and saying, “Glory to God in the highest, on earth peace, good will toward men.”

Moses and the Israelites praised God when He parted the Red Sea and saved them from the Egyptian army

Exodus 15:1-2

Then Moses and the children of Israel sang this song to the LORD, and said, “I will sing to the LORD, for he has triumphed gloriously. The horse and his rider he has thrown into the sea. The LORD is my strength and song. He has become my salvation. This is my God, and I will praise him; my father’s God, and I will exalt him.”

Jesus’ disciples loudly praised God

Luke 19:37-38

As he was now getting near, at the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works which they had seen, saying, “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven, and glory in the highest!”

Praising God, who saves me, helps me overcome despair

Psalm 42:5

Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God! For I shall still praise him for the saving help of his presence.

Even in hard times, Job praised the Lord

Job 1:21

He said, “Naked I came out of my mother’s womb, and naked will I return there. The LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away. Blessed be the LORD’s name.”

I praise God with gratitude for what Jesus has done

Ephesians 5:18-21

Don’t be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs; singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; giving thanks always concerning all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to God, even the Father; subjecting yourselves to one another in the fear of Christ.

While the early church was praising God, many people joined them believing in Jesus

Acts 2:46-47
