God loves children! Those with childlike faith, ready belief, genuine joy, and easy excitement have a special place in our Father’s heart.

“Allow the little children… to come to me,” Jesus said (Matthew 19:14 WEB), “for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to ones like these.” Praise God for His love for the little ones. And praise Him for blessing me and calling me His child.

Children are God’s heritage and His reward

Psalm 127:3

Behold, children are a heritage of the LORD. The fruit of the womb is his reward.

The most powerful human is as a little child when compared to God

1 Kings 3:7

Now, LORD my God, you have made your servant king instead of David my father. I am just a little child. I don’t know how to go out or come in.

Mark 10:13-16

Children are an important part of God’s Kingdom

Matthew 18:2-4

Jesus called a little child to himself, and set him in the middle of them and said, “Most certainly I tell you, unless you turn and become as little children, you will in no way enter into the Kingdom of Heaven. Whoever therefore humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.”

God pays close attention to how we treat children

Luke 9:46-48

An argument arose among them about which of them was the greatest. Jesus, perceiving the reasoning of their hearts, took a little child, and set him by his side, and said to them, “Whoever receives this little child in my name receives me. Whoever receives me receives him who sent me. For whoever is least among you all, this one will be great.”

We have only a child’s understanding of Jesus’ complexity

John 13:33-34

Little children, I will be with you a little while longer. You will seek me, and as I said to the Jews, ‘Where I am going, you can’t come,’ so now I tell you. A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also love one another.

Like human parents, God loves to give gifts to his children
